Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn

Great location, comfortable beds and a very responsive front desk. Breakfast was included and pretty good. The attached restaurant is great and reasonably priced for lunch and dinner too.

I had a wonderful experience at Best Western, and a big part of that was thanks to Vijay at the front desk. From the moment I arrived, he was incredibly welcoming, professional, and helpful. He handled the check-in process smoothly and efficiently, and he was always ready to assist with any questions or requests I had during my stay. Vijay's friendly attitude and attention to detail truly made a difference. It’s clear that he cares about guest satisfaction and goes the extra mile to ensure everyone feels comfortable and well taken care of. His excellent customer service reflects very well on the hotel. Thank you, Vijay, for making my stay so pleasant. I’ll definitely be returning, and I hope to see you again next time!

We have had the absolute BEST experience staying at this Best Western over the last week. I travelled up to Duncan with my two special needs kids and our dog to visit my husband while he’s working on the island. Travelling with young children is never easy, but the Best Western, and specially the sweet female manager at this location has made it the most enjoyable and memorable experience yet. I am so sad I don’t remember her name, but the sweet lady that manages the hotel went beyond out of her way to make my autistic sons feel welcomed, enjoyed, and safe. Every walk through the lobby she would come up and talk to them, ask if we need anything and make sure we felt like GUESTS instead of customers. The energy at this hotel is beyond welcoming. The staff even learned our dogs name and addressed the dog by her name. Which may seem silly, but those are the things that make a huge difference. The hotel is very clean, and well maintained. The outdoor pool is great for the kiddos to burn off their energy and take in the beauty of the island. The hotel also has a hot continental breakfast that was delicious, and a welcoming environment for children. If you are travelling with your dog, like us, the hotel also has a big field attached to the parking lot, perfect for your four legged friends to get some exercise in peace. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also so inclusive to our son’s needs and made us feel welcome every day. If you are looking for a hotel that goes the extra mile (and then some) this is the place! It’s worth the extra drive too if you aren’t visiting right in Duncan. Most of our activities planned were in Nanaimo but it has been well worth the extra drive time to stay in such a welcoming environment!

We were super happy with our stay here! The staff (especially Vijay) were exceptional and super accommodating for our team stay. Kids loved the outdoor pool and breakfast in the morning. The parents enjoyed the convenience of amenities around and knowing we’re in good hands.

Rooms were clean, service was good, location was excellent. Vijay had done a fantastic job and took our reservation at the last minute without any hesitation. He understood our needs and provided a room as per request. He was responsive and very kind. Good to see someone helpful, knowledgeable and understanding.

Very nice hotel. Friendly welcoming staff. The location is excellent as tonnes of shopping options close by as well as easy access to main roads going to Lake Cowichan/Chemainus/Nanaimo/Victoria. Free parking available on site. Their pub+cafe is really nice and happening. We were offered complimentary breakfast, which was good. The only reason for 4 stars is a minor oversight from housekeeping, for which I left them a note, but overall cleanliness and set up was great. We stayed in the king bed suite, the room layout was nice and spacious. Everything worked as expected. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stay in this area.

Nice stay. Clean comfortable rooms, close to where we needed to go while visiting the area. Staff was very helpful and they have breakfast included. We visited out of season, but they have what looks like a nice pool for warmer weather. Pub/restaurant on site as well. Really great option in an area that does not have many good options. We will be back!

The continental breakfast was excellent. Sundar and Latha were so friendly. Housekeeping and front desk staff were very kind during our stay. Which was during a time of displacement. A big thank you to everyone at best western Duncan. CVI
